Winter in Argentina
The preferred tourist destinations in winter are the ski centers in the Andes Mountains (Castor, Bariloche, Chapelco and Las Leñas). Mendoza wineries, also at the foot of the Andes, offer a comprehensive experience in their boutique hotels located in the same vineyards. The Argentine Northwest (Salta) has also developed a very interesting offer of wineries and tourism (the NOA has great thermal amplitude and crystalline sky). And for those who want warm weather, Iguazú Falls is convenient because in summer the heat is excessive. Without getting too far away, the Province of Buenos Aires has first-class rooms and hotels to spend a few relaxing days away from the city and where roast and wine remain the most iconic of a varied gastronomy.
The main airlines offer safe and cheap internal flights (we do not recommend the “low cost” service). And to reserve some days to see art, dance tango, buy books, listen to music and go out to eat in the Reina del Plata, the city of Buenos Aires.
USEFUL INFORMATION
“90% of tourists arrive at the Minister Pistarini International Airport in Ezeiza, 35 km from Buenos Aires, but to continue traveling to some of the interior destinations they must move to Jorge Newbery Airpark (in the center of the city of Buenos Aires ), it is convenient that the trip or transfer between the 2 airports is included in the ticket.
Currency exchange: at the airport there is a branch of the Banco de la Nación Argentina, although the convenient way to obtain pesos is at an ATM. As in much of the planet, the currencies that can most easily be exchanged are the US dollar and the euro, then the real one, the British pound and the yen.
Tips: in Argentina the tip is not obligatory, however it is a habitual gesture, if it is considered that the attention has been correct then the tip is around 10% of the total consumed (in bars, restaurants, pizzerias, restaurants and related shops and in other services – hotel beds). In taxis and remises the tip is extra pesos with respect to the cost of the ticket ”. Wikipedia Tourism in Argentina.
